Seconds Before Happiness

Seconds Before Happiness

It’s impossible, said pride

It’s risky, said experience

It’s pointless, said reason

Give it a try, whispered the heart

Unknown

I remember that night that I looked up at the moon and the stars.  I don’t know what it was I wanted then or how old I was; but whenever I feel lost or lonely I still look up at the moon and stars…still with that same feeling I felt back then.  It’s as if I knew that the stars have the answer I seek to feel fulfilled.

As though they somehow know or hold the knowledge of my life’s destiny.

As though they know the key to my missing puzzle piece, that, at last will give me a chance to live the life I dream of.

We all seek those elusive answers.

But for now, surely only the stars can make any sense of my existence here on earth.

One Wish…

I know I don’t have to do what everyone else is doing,

pretending to do, pretending to like.

So, what do I want?

To go outside tonight and look up at the dark sky and the moon.

To lay out among the stars talking it up all night getting to know and love you.
