You Get What You Feel You Deserve

Recently there has been a lot of focus from numerous inspirational sites about relationships.  And I recently listened to the awesome Soulmate series by Arielle Ford.  This intensive online seminar shared the insights of 45 contributors who are experts in the field of relationships.   So what was the most profound secret I came away from the seminar with?  Self-love…is one of the most important feelings we have to covet for ourselves in order to have deep, meaningful relationship.

This morning I was thinking about relationships and how we attract the people we do.  So think about this:  if you feel you are unworthy, you will attract someone who perpetuates those thoughts.  If you deprive yourself, you will attract someone who continues to deprive you.  If you feel no one loves you or no one will love you, you will attract someone who will not love you.  This is not a new realization as we hear about it frequently, but think about how prevalent it is in society.  Even though we have heard this over and over again, we practice depriving ourselves of the very love we crave by not loving ourselves.

On the contrary, if you feel you deserve, feel worthy and expect to have a life of love and abundance, you attract that into your life.  You have to feel this and give this to yourself first if you expect to receive it from anyone else.  Self-love is treating yourself the way you would treat someone you love.  Self-love is saying yes to life.  Self-love is taking care of yourself first so you can take care of the ones you love. Self-love is following your own path.  Self-love is standing up for yourself in spite of the opposition. Self-love is knowing how important this first relationship is.   Self-love is not allowing others to take any of this away from you.

People wonder why they may not be ready for relationships when they desperately want to find the love of their lives.  Try focusing on loving yourself first and see the magic that happens from that.  I believe your whole world will change from one simple practice that should become a part of your life forever.
